On The Shore

Description

This painting is the first in a series of 3 works created in oil + cold wax medium. When I created this first painting I didn’t intend on making a series, but I fell in love with the painting and decided to carry that emotion through onto two additional works.

The painting was created using a palette knife and has a calm feel to it resulting from the calm ocean waters created by continually pulling the paint flat with the knife. My intention was to capture the stillness of a quiet, slightly overcast, day.
